Kate Blackburn

Kate Blackburn

One of the veterans of the team, Kate Blackburn began playing lacrosse in 8th grade.  She is a 3 year letter winner and was voted the JV Offensive Player of the year her Freshman year.  Since moving to Varsity, she has held a starter position in Low Attack.  Kate is the only Academic All American on the 2008 team, a Palmer Dodge Player of the Week, was a member of the U-19 Team Dixie travel team, the Editor in Chief of the yearbook, a member of student council and the President of the National Charity League class of 2008.  "Kate's leadership on and off the field is an inspiration for the entire team"  say Coach Snyder.

Missa Duval

Missa is beginning her 3rd season with the Lacrosse Knights and her 1st as the starting Varsity Goalie. She began on JV as a defender and soon switched to play between the pipes. Missa has also been a Basketball and Competition Cheerleader for 4 years. She hopes to be attending Florida State University in the fall. Coach Snyder says "When I think of Missa I think of fearless. It takes a lot of guts to come to practice everyday and be in the goal and she loves it."

Holly Groover

Holly Groover is returning for her 4th season with the Knights. She has been playing lacrosse since she was a freshman. During her first season, Holly was a "floater." Holly began her sophomore season on the Varsity team, and has been on Varsity ever since. She has played Center and Low Attack. Last season Holly earned the Most Improved Player Award. In addition to lacrosse, Holly is the resident of SkillsUSA, Lieutenant of the Roswell Police Explorers, and was the Captain of the Varsity Softball Team, which she played on for 4 years. According to Coach Snyder, Holly is the point guard of our offense. She is an outstanding offensive player and she strives to be the best she can be. She also strives to do whatever she can to make the team better.

Margaux Lysett

Margaux Lysett

At Low Attack, Margaux Lysett is returning for her 4th season with the Knights.  Margaux played two years with the JV team and was captain her sophomore year.  She moved to Varsity last year and has served as an off season captain.  Margaux has been active with the Jr. Knights camps volunteering as a student coach and at Special Olympic lacrosse clinics.  At school, Margaux is a STARS tutor, a peer facilitator with PALS club and active with SKILLS USA.  According to Coach Snyder "Margaux works hard at building consensus and not only wants what's best for herself, but for the whole team".

Whitney Seltman

Whitney Seltman is returning for her 4th season as a defender for the Knights.  Whitney began playing lacrosse in the 9th grade and played for 1 year on the JV team before moving to Varsity.  Whitney is a letter winner and has been a scholar athlete for all 4 years.  In addition to lacrosse, Whitney has served on Student Council for 3 years, is Co -chariman of the Renaissance program, Member of National Honor Society , National Foreign Language Society, and a past member of the Spanish Club.  This past fall Whitney was voted senior Homecoming Queen.  From the coach:  "Whitney is a great player and a great student of the game.  She soaks up all the information she can and really understands the sport."

Erica Wilcox

In only her second season with the lacrosse knights, Erica Wilcox has proven to be a valuable asset to the team. According to Coach Snyder "Erica is an all around athlete. She only knows how to play full speed and that’s what makes her so great." Prior to joining the lacrosse team, Erica played and was captain of the JV tennis team. She's also a cross country runner, the SKILLS USA vice president and a member of the NHS and National Technical Honors Society. In her spare time, she works as a therapist for an autistic student.
